Request a Payment Plan
One way to pay for your dental care is to ask your dentist for a payment plan. Many offices are willing to work with patients on their dental bills by paying for treatments over time. You may have to pay a percentage of the total upfront, but the remaining payments will be lower. This option may only be available for general dental procedures, such as fillings, crowns, root canals, cleanings, and so on. Cosmetic procedures like veneers or teeth bleaching may not be included with this option.
Your dental office may also offer a credit line to help pay for treatments. This option typically comes with a pre-approval process. Although you may not save money with these options, it will make it more affordable to get your dental care because you will only have to deal with smaller payments rather than one large lump sum.
Visit a Dental School
You can save some money on your dental care by going to a dental school for your procedures. If you do not have an issue with a dental student working on your teeth, you can save a great deal of money with this option. Dental students need to have hands-on training with real patients. Many dental schools will offer low cost care to the patients. If you are worried about an unlicensed dentist working on your mouth, keep in mind that a dental instructor closely monitors the students during the procedures.
Request a Cash Discount
If you are able to save up some cash each month, you may be eligible for a discount by making cash payment. Call local dentists in your area to see if this is an option for you. By paying for your treatments in cash upfront, you can save yourself some money.
